Avoiding the Television Apocalypse (it's like a zombie apocalypse except more intense)

It is evil to leave your TV on when you are not watching it because eventually this behaviour will bring about the apocalypse.

This has been something that irritates me for a long time, but only recently have I discovered the true horror. Observe.

Here we have a normal, healthy, happy, well-adjusted television.

Now, as long as people keep watching this television, he's happy.

And it doesn't mind being turned off, either - that's just like sleeping.

Complete with dreaming. But there is one thing they just cannot stand.

They cannot stand when people leave them on witthout watching them. It makes them feel useless, unappreciated, and unloved.

First, they just get sad. They start feeling blue.

But as it goes on, they stop feeling sad. They start feeling... angry.

Then, in its anger, it grows arms and legs...

And then IT KILLS ALL THE HUMANS IN THE WORLD.

SO THAT'S WHY YOU NEED TO TURN YOUR TV OFF WHEN YOU'RE NOT WATCHING IT.

OR ELSE BYE, BYE, HUMANITY.

THE END

AND NOW TO TAKE YOUR MIND OFF ALL THAT NASTY CARNAGE HERE IS AN ADORABLE KITTEN.

  4. This made me laugh, so I showed it to my mom and she snorted, which is sort of a laugh. And then I showed it to my dad, which earned you a laugh and a "that's pretty cute", which is what he says about everything he thinks is interesting. So there. :D

  5. @ Charlotte: Oh, I let you watch the Sorting Hat via the Harry Potter movies, and I'm okay; I sleep all year; I work one day...
I've never made a reference to a reference before; it's interesting. If you can identify both, you get a virtual stuffed tardigrade! If you can identif the direct one, you get... a virtual picture of a stuffed tardigrade, I suppose.

  7. Oh, ZNZ, what would we do without you to warn us of the perils of TV-leaving-oning-without-watchinging? We will never leave our TVs on without watching them again! We are eternally grateful!

@Charlotte: I... don't know; I haven't really thought about it. They might rebel against you, but they're sleeping most of the time, so I think you're safe.
