another year, another destiny!

I got a Monet calendar for Christmas!
This never-ending road to Calvary!
These men who seem to know my crime
will surely come a second time -

oh, right. You came here for my New Year's post, not a Les Misérables singalong.

It's 2012 now. 2011 was, I suppose, a good year. I had a good year, certainly (I saw Les Mis for the first time; how could it not be a good year?); I hope all of you did as well, and I hope 2012 is a good year for you.

I'm a bit uncertain about what to put here. Some people post lists of books they've read in the past year, but I lost track pretty early on this year, so I have no idea. I will say that I read Les Misérables for the first time this year, and I think it was the best book I've read all year. Also high up there was The Name of the Wind, which was simply amazing. I watched Doctor Who for the first time. I turned fourteen. I started ninth grade. I won NaNoWriMo for the second time.

I've thought about making New Year's resolutions, and even drew up a rudimentary list, including such items as post on the blog more (I posted seventy-five posts last year, and I want to post at least 100 posts this year), and write more (I've already started writing a novel this year; I'll post about that soon!). I also want to try to be more organised and not fail Latin.

And since I can't think of anything else to say, I'll end this here, and wish you all a happy new year.
