Camp NaNoWriMo

Today is the first day of the first EVAR Camp NaNoWriMo. So exciting, right?

Answer: YES. What did you think? Of course it's exciting.

Yes, that is my word count.
For those whose heads are under rocks: Camp NaNoWriMo is like NaNoWriMo. But it's camp-themed and it takes place during July and August. (I am only doing July the reason being that in August I start high school and AAAAAAAAAAH *terror* and it's going to be insane and such.)

From the website: "Based on November's National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), Camp NaNoWriMo provides the online support, tracking tools, and hard deadline to help you write the rough draft of your novel in a month... other than November!"

So. At two-ish this morning my eyes flew open. I leaped out of bed, grabbed my computer, and checked the time.

It was after midnight.

I made this cover. *flaunts*
Horrified, I opened Word and began typing my book: The Myriad Uses of Lightning.

(First line, for the curious: "'Well,” said Rowan Damon, water mage, swallowing nervously and pushing his spectacles further up his nose, 'the thing is, that magecraft, um, at its core is all about... about...' He hesitated, looked around helplessly.")

So as of right now I have approxamately 1,674 words - many of which I am right now rewriting
because I decided that they were stupid and didn't work.

See, this story? I know lots of characters: Tristan, Kiera, Rowan, Hamilton, Ember, Xander, Rosie... I know my setting, and I have lots and lots of ideas and even some semblance of a plot.

But I just don't know how to write the thing.

Oh, well. I'll figure it out as I go. Right?

Write.

Yup, that's me. (No not really.) I think the tent might burn down soon... oh well.

Having a blast at camp,
Zee
