And so I saw that she did that and I was all like:

| This is me. Only my hair is short and brown and I wouldn't ever wear a dress like that. |
According to her, I blog "about a variety of subjects, all of which are extremely clever." Isn't that nice of her? Thanks, Mercy!

The Rules
1. Thank and link to the person who nominated you. Done and done!
2. Share seven random facts about yourself. Seven? I'm not that interesting...3. Pass the award along to 5 deserving blogging buddies. Only five?! But I read like fifty!
4. Contact those buddies to congratulate them. Sure thing.

The Random Facts of RANDOMNESS!
1. I was flying before I could walk. Like my mother before me, I flew for the first time at the tender age of seven weeks.
Hah, no, not like that. I wish. We don't have wings or anything, EPICTASTIC as that would be. Nah, it was in an aeroplane.

2. When I was little, an ant bit my eye and stayed there. So first Dad tried holding me under running water, but I screamed too much and it didn't come out. And the doctor my despairing parents took me to said he'd never seen that happen before. But eventually we got it out, though I can't remember how.
3. My favourite fonts are Courier, Trebuchet, and Baskerville Old Face. I like Baskerville because it's kind of fancy and pretty and old-fashioned without being annoying and hard to read, and Courier because it's simple and readable and it looks like a typewriter. And I like how Trebuchet is simple and readable and pretty, but I like it mostly for its name. Because a trebuchet is this thing:
And that is epictastic.

| Bonus fun fact: I once hit myself in the nose with a miniature one of these things in a history class, when I was demonstrating the use of it to some sixth graders. |
4. My favourite food is sushi. I love it when I tell people that and they're all like "RAW FISH?!?!?!" and I'm all like, "Yes."
5. I have never tasted Coke. And I have no desire to do so. And I love people's expressions when I tell them that.
6. I'm learning Latin. And LATIN GRAMMAR is like DEATH! Except HARDER!
7. I think the word "corps" is unbearably ugly. I don't however, mind "core" or "corpse." Maybe because of the silent ps? I dunno, it's just always seemed wrong to me.

The Peoples I Choose to Award
Hmmm...
Hmmm...
This is an even more important task than choosing people to tag!
And even harder!
All right, I do believe I have it. This was REALLY REALLY HARD TO DECIDE ABOUT, because EVERYONE IS ALL SO AWESOME, which is part of why this post is so late, but ANYHOOZLE HERE WE GO:

The Peoples I Choose to Award
1. For her thoughtful and well written posts on - to quote her - "writing historical fiction, writing for God, and writing Robin Hood," I would like to award Nairam, of the excellent blog Nairam of Sherwood.
2. This is a blog I discovered very recently: B for Bel, by Belly B. It is full of epicful things that make me ooh and ah and occasionally say "WANT," and it deserves an award.
3. kikiann11 of Kirsten Writes! gets an award as well. She's awesome, she's a fellow Ravenclaw, she shares my concern for proper grammar, and she makes me laugh.
4. Award number four goes to Ruth, for her blog There Is No Such Thing As A God-Forsaken Town, where she posts awesome poetry (quite a bit of which she writes) and awesome book reviews and is just generally awesome.
5. And last but not least, we have Megan Squared, by Megan. This blog makes me laugh A WHOLE LOT. She does pictures, too, pictures that put mine to shame not that that's all that hard.

And yeah, that's about it. Bye! And thank you again, Mercy!

Thank you so much for the award!!! I feel so honoured :) :) :) You just totally made my day :)
ReplyDelete(I'm sure you can tell with all the smiley faces haha)
<3 Belly B
Awesomeness! Pure awesomeness! Rather strange and kinda freaky about the ant in your eye, but funny about the trebuchet thing. :) I'm so proud of myself, I knew what a trebuchet was! Yay! :D
ReplyDeleteAnd I think I shall have to check out Kirsten Writes!, because I'm totally a Ravenclaw, too. :D Actually, I should probably check out all of the blogs you awarded!
Great post, ZNZ! Love it!
Latin is a dead language,
ReplyDeleteAs you can plainly see.
First it killed the Romans,
Now it's killing me!
I'm totally with you on Latin grammar. You'd think grammar nerds wouldn't mind it, but it's. So. Hard.
